THE City Government of Davao suspended the business and sanitary permit of MTC Rebosura Catering Services pending result of an investigation of the food poisoning incident that downed 179 students and employees of the Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) on Sunday.
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said the investigating team from the City Health Office discovered some lapses on the food preparation that resulted to the food poisoning.

Investigation showed that the chicken adobo was cooked around 4 a.m. of July 29 and was not served until 12 noon of the same day.
"The food should have been served within four hours. It was cooked at 4 a.m. and was served at noon which most likely allowed germs to proliferate," Duterte-Carpio said.
The mayor said the suspension of the permits will stay until the result of the laboratory tests is released by the Department of Health (DOH).
The city has monitored a total of 169 cases of food poisoning from the incident. Jeremy Eliab, Addu administrator, said that 34 are still in the hospital with the doctors’ advice for a 48-hour monitoring before discharging them.
A DOH official also said on Tuesday the test results of the food samples that were taken from the suspected spoiled food will soon be released.
In a phone interview, DOH-Davao Region Director Abdullah Dumama said two medical specialists from the National Epidemiology Center (NEC) based in Metro Manila arrived in the city Tuesday to conduct laboratory testing on the food samples.
He said the results will be released on Friday.
"Three specimens ang nakita ko. We have provided them a place wherein they can conduct their investigation as to how it happened," Dumnama said.
The test samples, taken on Monday, are preserved for laboratory testing.
As reported earlier, Jeremy Eliab, the university's assistant to the president, identified MTC Rebosura as the caterer that served them chicken adobo with boiled egg, bihon, fish fillet, rice, and fruit salad for lunch.
He said the result will be their basis on what legal action they will take adding that the school also convened its own investigation team to find out what really happened.
The university has already suspended all the catering services with MTC Rebosura that has been catering for the school twice a week for three years now.
The Atenews Addu tweet said that there were a total of 350 student leaders who attended the Sui Generis Leadership gathering conducted at the Ateneo campus on Sunday with no less than Jesuit priest Joel Tabora, Ateneo de Davao president, attending.
Fr. Tabora was among those who suffered food poisoning.
